We've now got a pretty good idea what the SVR will be this coming winter, but what do you think it will be for the following winter?
Obviously the easy answer is "nobody knows", but what is your gut feeling? Will it be higher next winter than this coming winter? Or lower?
Or will be all be living a Mad Max style existence by then anyway?

I prefer the "Wild Boys" 😉.   DD style 😎
How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 3.24% of current retirement "pot" (as at end December 2025)

At the current gas and electric market price levels the price cap should reach £6-7000 next year.  But there could be a drop in demand due to the huge number of people freezing or starving to death this winter.

Will people be able to request to have meters removed. At the prices they are now I would consider having the gas out altogether but wouldn't want to pay a standing charge for it.
Don't know how people are supposed to cope with these prices.

People can request to have meters removed now, for typically about £300. Are you thinking of air-source heat pumps?

Right now, gas prices for Winter 23 are around 309p/therm - call it 10.5p/kWh wholesale, which works out as about 13.5p/kWh retail. Similar to the expected October cap.
Prices for Summer 23 are a little higher than that, and for Winter 22 you're looking at 500p/therm, 17p/kWh wholesale or about 20p/kWh retail.
Those are so far outside the normal range (40-60p/therm) that I don't know quite what to think or expect.

I want to know where the Doof Warrior gets the gas for his flamethrower from.
