First Direct current account won't accept switch from Chase current account

A week ago opened a First Direct current account and set up switch from my chase current account to get the switch bonus of £150

Received text from first direct to call them which I did

They said that my First Direct current account was now opened but they won't accept switch from Chase current account

Therefore no switching bonus

Anything else I can do ?

Regards

Chase isn't a member of the Current Account Switching Service, so can't be used for any switching offers for which that's a prerequisite (all of them), i.e. it's a Chase issue not a First Direct one....

I think some switch offers do allow a manual switch from non-CASS accounts, so you may be able to switch out of Chase one day

So far as I am aware, there have never been any switch offers for partial/manual switches.  You can use them to switch, certainly, but you won't get any bonus/offer for doing so.

They existed before the CASS was introduced but I cannot think of any since. These were great as you weren't forced to close the switched account, it was optional.

I don't know, I just seem to remember reading the t&cs of a couple of offers which said you could do a manual switch if necessary.

You have a better memory than me. CASS came into existence in 2013. I can't remember whether there were switch offers before then, but since then, most switch offers did require CASS. there were also quite a few referral offers which didn't rquire a switch. Those are now really rare - though Chase had one quite recently.

Important to remember that it has always been possible to switch donor/secondary accounts for one of the switch offers, so nobody is forced to switch & close their main current account.
