Wondering if I’d be better off paying monthly for what I actually use ie send in reading each month?? The EDF said they would take out my bank amount used but I’d rather pay myself especially as rising so much? What’s best way do you all think???

  • Hi,
you could set up a variable DD to take bill amount, that way you still benefit from the DD rates.
Though you would need to be prepared for higher bills in winter.

    As above.

Paying not by direct debit is 7% more expensive.

Let EDF bill you for the actual amount used will be cheaper, as stated above.

  • Use Direct Debit Whole Amount Monthly.

EDF will bill you and the DD payment date is normally around 17 days after the bill appears in your online account, so you have plenty of time to ensure the funds are in place.

You do get the preferential DD tariffs using this method.

EDF definitely charge more for non-DD payments. DD whole amount monthly was my choice when I was with EDF.
