UPvc window cam hitting frame

Hello, one of the windows has just started not being able to close properly because one of the keeps/cams is sticking out too far and hitting the frame, the other 2 on the window are fine.

Anyway to fix this? I noticed there is an Allen key socket on it but I think that just moves it sideways, not up and down.

the hinges will be worn and will need replaced. or sometimes they can be moved slightly but thats just a temporary measure to get it to close

Most probably window has dropped slightly, check the screws in the hinges are tight and if possible lift up. Generally new hinges.
There is a5 minute cowboy trick to sort it, but not telling 😂

Is it definitely a problem with the hinges? It's only the middle of the 3 that is catching like this.

How old are the windows?  Any possibility the are still covered under warranty?  We had a problem with two small windows 9 years into a 10 year warranty and they were sorted quickly.  Different problem to the OP.

Window might have bowed in the extreme heat. Take the offending bit of metal off and grind it down on a bench grinder.

that offending piece of metal is the mechanism . the cams are off set and that's what the allen key does . not up n down . you could try a 3 x 2 between the open sash and the frame and lever it back into place if its the middle one . or . see if you can get a fixing down into the cill to take the frame down a bit . or . open it wide get someone involved to hold the sash and try to lift and tighten the hinges . Or . Unglaze it to make it lighter would help while you did the above with the hinges . or . blade the space where the cam knocks to allow it through without knocking .

10 years wouldn't cover moving parts unless its a good will from the people who fitted them . I get 2 years from my supplier but give 10 if I can but only 2 really in writing

Check the obvious, such as that the mushroom isn't loose and can be tightened up (soz - you've tried this, I'm sure).
Then check the frame it's hitting against - place a spirit level or other straight edge along it to see if it's bowed upwards.
If all that returns an 'ok', and if it isn't down to the hinges being loose/worn, then unbolt the mushroom, and see if you can file/angle-grind a mm or whatever is needed from the mounting end - can that be done without affecting it? Ie, leave the mushroom 'head' untouched if you can.

It was part of the locking mechanism on 2 windows which the company replaced under warranty.  No suggestion from them that they weren'tcovered and this was just a goodwill gesture.

Thanks for the replies, the windows are all quite old and will probably need to be replaced sooner or later, so I think I will try taking the mushroom(thanks for the name, couldn't find that) out and filing it down a bit.
