About to buy and put my credit card details in when I noticed the word GPS in some small print at bottom of page. So I zoomed in and read it. To my horror I read this,

"This policy won’t cover your vehicle for loss or damage caused by theft or attempted theft unless your vehicle is fitted with a GPS satellite tracking device with a continuous subscription in place"

I asked why this isn't made clear
I was clear enough as you spotted it.  Not sure what the issue is.
Is the issue that the OP isn't spot it until after purchase, so therefore they feel that it should be made clearer before purchase, since tracking isn't something that is a normal condition on vehicles apart from high value ones.

Question - How many of you actually read (did not say understand) all the Terms & Conditions?

My point was that during the quote stage I was asked if tracker fitted. Answered NO. At that stage HD should have either stopped the quote there and then or made it crystal clear that the policy  required a tracker fitted. Neither happened.

To allow a quote to continue all the way to the pay page not realising or making it clear that theft of vehicle wasn't covered is sneaky and nothing less than a scam in my opinion. Why try to hide it?  Those that think this is ok, fine you carry on with doing your business that way.

Their response to my email stated,"sorry you decided not to insure with us on this occasion. We stand by our small print."

The policy  only requires a tracker fitted if you want cover for loos or theft.

It will cover you for everything else.

You need to raise a complaint with the comparison site, who should look into it, and have much more clout than an individual. If necessary, they have the ability to put a rule in place that excludes an insurer from a comparison.
