Credit Files Financial Association and the Deceased

My wife passed away almost 4 years ago now. I used the one-stop shop at the registrars to inform government/local government (Pensions/Benefits/Council Tax etc) thus taking some of the weight of me at a very sad time.
I duly provided individual banks/insurance companies/card providers with death certificates.
I wrongly assumed my late wife would have been removed from my credit files as a Financial Associate via the information I had provided to the above.
Experian and TransUnion still show my late wife as a Financial Associate. Only Equifax has it correct.
I’ve informed the other two agencies yesterday. Not easy. Lets see how long it takes to rectify.
Could I suggest that Financial Companies should have a duty of care to inform the Credit Reference Agencies if they’ve been notified of a death, and for the Financial Association to be removed. Another help would be a one-stop shop (as the Registrar provides).
Any thoughts on how this could be improved?
