restoring and painting old garage window

Hello,

We have spent last year repairing and painting the interiors of our new home. Only just managed to start fixing things outside. There is quite a bit to do there also but I dont have a lot of time left before the winter because we are expecting our second child in 3 weeks time. But before I get super busy with the wee one, I think there is this one thing that needs my attention. Please see the attached photos. Its the window of my garage and it looks in quite a bad shape. Paint is badly peeling off, under the paint wood is grey in colour and in some places it is quite soft (able to press my thumb nail into it). Plus mortar between the bricks and bricks and window frame is coming out in places. And am guessing that there has been some water ingress because you can see water marks on the inside of the window glass. In some places there some black sticky stuff under the paint - am guessing this is black mould?

Here are my questions and will be very grateful for suggestions please:
1. Does this need immediate attention? Or I can ignore it for another year?
2. How should I go about it? Scrap old paint, use Ronseal Wood Hardener, sand, fill with Ronseal two part filler, sand, prime with Zinsser BIN (have half a tin of it leftover from another project), sand and paint with Valspar Garden Paint. This is my tentative plan!
3. What to do with the mortar around the frame? I think can do a bit of repointing but where to get colour matched mortar? Think it could Soudal ready to use mortar in beige?
4. Is there anything else I should think about ?
Cheers
