Morning all, I've only just caught up with the rest of yesterday's news & sorry to see you were ill Ruby, but glad you feel a bit better. Snoozer likewise for your 'spotty' DGS
Nan enjoy your day with the DGC.
A quick one from me as I'm off out with my oldest friend at 11. I think we are going to RHS Bridgewater after postponing from the hottestday of the year, seems like it's going to be a nice day here.Had a pre prepared gammon joint that comes with a glaze in my T order and decided to try it in my new ninja grill toy- very pleased,& once it got time to add the glaze I also bunged in some chopped courgettes, peppers & tomatoes, with a bit of feta added right at the end. Went down well but I got a shock when I got the courgettes out of their brown paper bag- £2 for 2- admittedly they were biggish ones but eeek!
Right better go & make myself presentable, have the best day you can x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)11 -
Hi everyone,
Time gets away from me so easily with a little one in the house. He's sulking in his buggy at the moment though because he slammed a wooden car down on the TV table (not maliciously, just in play) and Steve, Laura and I all shouted "NO" together which upset him.
We had a late night, Laura had an event in London (a whisky and cheese tasting). She told them she couldn't go because the trains were cancelled because of a line down and they paid for a taxi there and back for her! She didn't get back till nearly midnight.
again i've had an interrupted post so it's a couple of hours since I wrote it. Better post quickly.

Afternoon all. A much better day weather-wise here today - some sun and warmer. Pity I don't have any washing to hang out.
Yesterday's grocery delivery arrived bang on time, with all present and correct. It was a new delivery driver (new to me anyway), a very pleasant young man who transferred everything from his crates into mine. My slippers arrived this morning and they're just what I wanted. The old ones have been binned and I've also sorted through the shoe cupboard. One pair of sandals binned, another pair and a pair of deck shoes went in the CS bag along with a large piece of fabric that I know I won't use. Little by little.
This morning I've made a batch of fruit scones to use up the last bit of yogurt and a tray of cornflake squares. Tonight's dinner is a small piece of cod each with battered potato scallops, peas & sweetcorn.
I had a phone call yesterday from my ex-neighbour to let me know she'll be staying with her son and his family for the next couple of weeks to help out with childcare during the school holidays so we've arranged to meet up for a coffee somewhere. We lived next door to each other for almost 40 years before she moved after retiring. Something to look forward to as we'll have a lot to catch up on.Pleased to hear you’re feeling a bit better Ruby and I hope you get a scan date soon. The waiting is always hard.
Doing things, not buying things - I love that sentiment Gers.
TA - It’s so hard to part with sentimental keeps. I kept a few things from my parents’ house, then asked my DD and DS if there was anything they wanted, gave them what they did want and disposed of the rest. My logic was that if they didn’t want it now then they wouldn’t later and I didn't want them to have the hassle when we're gone.
Poor Mr Fix It nanny. I prescribe TLC but I’m sure you do that anyway. My DS was a sleepwalker as a teenager - heaven knows where that came from.
Considering courgettes usually grow like weeds, the price always astounds me, Rosy. Same with rhubarb.
Good luck with that attic, taff. Rather you than me.
Enjoy the day, ignore the dreary news (if you can) and take care. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.9
