British Gas oh what joy
Hi there i wonder if you could help me please i only have lpg bottled gas
I was with Yorkshire energy the went under and i was transferred to B G that's where the problem started
they transferred me onto there welcome to BG tariff and then transferred me again to a fixed tariff that expires 31st July 2022 So after messing up my meter reads as im on a dual meter they said i was on a single tariff some months later i decided to tackle them about it as i have e7 but after lots of chats with call handlers overseas i got no where
lodged 3 complaints and hey presto last week they contacted me They would look into my account and make the necessary changes Great i thought
Any way this week they have text to say all is not sorted out and that a refund is gong on my account etc and they have reduced my direct debit by £90 a month (will come onto that later)
so in June i was sent an email from BG offering me a single rate fixed deal Jul. v23 offering
Day 37.720 and SC of .42.774 and the project i will use 4154 a year fixed up to Jul. 2023
today after texting BG back they are now offering fixed until Jul. 2023
Day 42.882
Night 24785
SC 42.860
i messaged them back saying wow what a leap in price so they messaged back saying that's because I'm on dual rate now (as i should of been all along)
after messaging them back again they are offering to put my account back to how it was before they swapped my tariff over and i can continue to have the Jul. v23 offering
Day 37.720
SC 42.774
i think i use around 1000 at night and 3154 day
Am i been messed around again or what do you think is the better deal as both are fixed til next July
Any advice accepted and yes id love to leave BG

Given you day/night split you are better off on a single rate.
We have 2 meters but pay a single rate and use 2900 day and 800 night. You appear to have forced BG to put you on a dual tariff and that is what they've done. I don't think they are messing you around.1 -
Actually, the SOLR for Yorkshire Energy was Scottish Power.1

Also if they put me back onto a single tariff then i will be charged what they credited my account yesterday £130.000

SOLR - Supplier of Last Resort - i.e. the supplier appointed to take on the customers of a failed energy company. I was with YE myself, and Scottish Power were the appointed SOLR for them. https://www.ofgem.gov.uk/publications/ofgem-appoints-scottish-power-take-customers-yorkshire-energyPhil1165 said:

You said they project a usage of 4154KWh per year, later you say you might be using 3154 day and about 1000 at night. Do you know your usage or is that just from the BG estimates.
Contrary to @Robin9 I don't think you have a reason to go to the complaints department. It seems you are the one who cannot make his mind up if he wants single rate or E7, and they are waiting for your decision.
Regarding increasing tariffs, you are complaining that a tariff that was valid a month ago has been replace with a more expensive one, you are aware that we had since than two new more expensive predictions of the October cap? We are in a situation where you take a fixed tariff, or you risk it is gone tomorrow.
The fixed tariff for E7 that you are offered is in my opinion very cheap, fixed tariffs for single tariff are more expensive than the day rate offered.1
