France antigen test - supervised a requirement?

Hello all
I am due to travel to France this weekend and looking at an antigen test.
I've seen various companies offering both supervised and unsupervised tests, both with travel certificates included.
Can anyone who's been there recently confirm if an unsupervised test is sufficient? (It's double the price and I'm having issues finding a local appointment at short notice for an observed one).
Thanks

If you follow the link on the gov.uk page about entry requirements to France, it leads you to the French embassy page which includes this important sentence:
"Self-administered tests whose results are not certified by an approved private test provider (e.g. free tests provided by the NHS) are not valid for travel."
So you need a test that is certified by a test provider.
Note that those considered fully vaccinated don't need to test.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. When I last went I used an online certified test, but it wasn't "supervised"; I just had to send a photo of the result. Then a few days after I travelled I wouldn't have needed any test at all as am fully vacc to their standards.

Thanks, think we are going for the unsupervised test, that is still "certified by an approved private test provider"
We do it at home, drop it off at the local lab and get the certificate by email.
It's just for our son as he's only just turned 12 and isn't fully vaccinated yet.0 -
If you use a provider like Testing for All (not sure if they're still requiring tests), no need even to do that.PP1984 said:Thanks, think we are going for the unsupervised test, that is still "certified by an approved private test provider"

Snap a photo of the test and upload and you'll have a certificate back by e-mail in 10-15 minutes.💙💛 💔0 -
This sounds like you are going for a PCR test. A LFT test will be much cheaper and quicker. The rules state "Unvaccinated travellers must present a negative result of a PCR test less than 72 hours old or an antigen test less than 48 hours old before departure ".PP1984 said:Thanks, think we are going for the unsupervised test, that is still "certified by an approved private test provider"

Antigen=LFT. Use somewhere that you upload a picture of your sample and you would have the results within an hour. I've used Qured with good service, people also recommend Klarity if you have a spare test at home.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
