Investec notice saver 2.1% - seems a good deal?

From their site:
"All withdrawals are subject to a 90-day notice period, which will start on the calendar day that you tell us you’d like to make a withdrawal. You’ll still earn interest during this period."
So deposit what you like, immediately set the notice period, and you have a 90 day saving account at 2.1% interest. That seems pretty decent to me, unless I'm missing something/misunderstood?

Yes, that's right. I opened a similar account with OakNorth last week. When giving notice, I'm presuming you'll either have the option to withdraw a set amount or close the account without giving a set amount, which will then include the interest upon closure. I haven't given notice on mine yet though as I'm still paying into it.0

Very easy no passports or selfies etc....done in moments and, although it said the account would be ready to pay into the following day (I thnk) it was actually there early that same evening. Did a test £10 transfer in and got notification within 30 mins that it had been received. Setting online account is easy as well ..from memory just remember the email address you used to open the account, then create username, add phone no, just three bits of memorable info and a password.SJMALBA said:refluxer said:Yes, that's right. Also straightforward. Usual type of login....username and password then you get sent a code to phone1 -

I've been an existing OakNorth customer for a couple of years now so applying for a notice account literally took a few minutes. I can't remember the exact sign-up procedure that was in place when I opened my very first account with them, but I don't remember it being complex and I definitely didn't need to post any documents which presumably means I passed any online ID checks they carried out. I haven't had a passport in years, so that wasn't needed. OakNorth have an app, but you don't have to use it. You'll need a mobile though so that you can receive a security code by text which is needed to log into their site.SJMALBA said:Was setting up an account with OakNorth easy (Investec require a smartphone, passport etc, which makes it a non-starter for me)?
