Mcdonalds car park barrier fell on my car roof

Did you report it whilst at McDonalds? They should have insurance to cover this.3

Hand it to your insurers to deal with or deal with it personally with McDs1

Need to get the thread transferred to the general 'Motoring' forum as this one deals with private parking issues. I've reported it for admin attention. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

I've reported it to mcdonalds and they have escalated it to head office apparently. So I'm waiting to hear back. When I think of what could have been! Fuming!0

FWIW, you don’t get compensation for what might have happened but didn’t.What exactly caused the barrier to drop? You said it was blown - what does that mean? Did the staff you spoke to make a record of the incident? All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
Notify your insurer. Make a claim for the cost of repairs against your own insurance, or directly against McDonald's public liability, whichever you prefer. Hopefully your dog and two young children have got over the ordeal, if not, then you should also claim for the cost of any counselling to be reimbursed.Jennyrl said:Hi
I used mcdonalds drive through today and the barrier was blown and fell onto the roof of my car. I have a dent, couple of scratches. My dog and two young children were very scared.
Any advise please?3 -
To complicate matters a bit, it may well be a franchisee who is responsible for the site rather than McD's head office (though I would expect them to point you in the right direction).1

What might of been? Did you decide not to take cabriolet?1

McD should take it seriously. If it happened to a convertible...0
