vanishing scroll bar on moneysaving site

This is a recent problem. Never encountered before in years of use.
The right hand scrollbar does not appear. Page up/down don't work either, so it's impossible to scroll down on either the main site or the forum. After much experimentation I discovered that re-starting the laptop, returning to the site and 'accepting all 'cookies, the scroll bar appears. (previously I always opted out and this did not present a problem).
OK - sorted I thought.
* but why the need to re-start laptop? I tried clearing cookies, returning to the site, accepting cookies, but no, does not work
* also found that if I navigate to the site but don't immediately accept cookies/log in (eg while working on a different window/site), the problem recurs and have to re-start laptop
* have also tried switching off 'enhanced tracking protection' for the site but that makes no difference
I'm using Firefox if that should be relevant....

There’s a reason why HelpDesks tell you to switch off the machine and restart it. It deals with a very high proportion of problems. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?1

Plus if that were my problem (ie it had been 'hidden' and needed reversing) surely it would affect ALL webpages, not just this forum?Back to duckduckgo!0

What I meant was that you may have a corrupted CSS, for example. If that’s stored, it will keep getting called. And, of course, it would be for this site only.
You say you have deleted cookies, but can you not delete all cached images and files in Firefox? Sorry, it’s years since I used it.
Does the issue also happen if you use a different browser? No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?1 -

Sorry, it’s years since I used it.When clearing cookies, I'm offered the option of 'cookies and site data' and/or 'cached web content'. I select and clear both.Hmm internet explorer loads the main site {incl scroll bar) but won't load the forum at all.

It'll be something in the forum code that IE can't work with, and when most browsers see something they don't know what to do with, they'll just ignore it. Which is fine for the most part, until it happens to be the code needed to show you anything.Anyway Internet Explorer is out of support as of six weeks ago so the fact the forum doesn't work in it is probably no great loss.2

Try it on Edge or Chrome.
IE is deprecated.1 -
So I've downloaded Brave and tried that. All works fine. Might make that my default browser. Pity as I like Firefox.1

Brave looks quite interesting. At the moment, I use Chrome and Edge.
It doesn’t bother me that some computer in the cloud is chortling with satisfaction over knowing that I recently did a search for a hot melt glue gun.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0
