L&G are who I'm with. They've a good claims history and the policy is fit for purpose. It's not got some of the added features of other providers, like Royal Londons free Fracture Benefit or Aviva's trauma cover.
That seems like a cheap premium though, depending on your age, for that level of benefit.
Is it their "low start" income protection or does it have a limited claim period?1 -
Claim period is until age 65....used money world dot com0

No L and G are one of the worst for paying out insurance claims (life insurance-I know that’s slightly different to what you are looking for). I looked it up on the internet on their own published annual data after they refused to pay out for my late husband.I have also seen many complaints from customers on the Internet in connection with their pensions.0

No L and G are one of the worst for paying out insurance claims (life insurance-I know that’s slightly different to what you are looking for). Its not slightly different. It is very different.I looked it up on the internet on their own published annual data after they refused to pay out for my late husband. And you would have found a 97% claim payout rate. It is not the best but it is certainly not one of the worst.
Life assurance is a very easy product to understand and it has a pretty obvious reason to claim. i.e death. So, the number of refusals to pay out are tiny. The majority of those that refuse to pay out is down to non-disclosure of medical issues with something serious enough that they would not have covered it in the first place.I have also seen many complaints from customers on the Internet in connection with their pensions.L&G sold their legacy pension book, and it attracted many complaints (despite L&G not being a big player in pensions). You just have to read some of the whingers posting negative reviews to realise they don't have a clue what they are talking about and are marking down L&G unfairly.
