If using for baking, I would be tempted to thin the double cream down with either milk or water first. I've made scones with double cream before, and although they weren't lead bricks, they were definitely on the heavy side!Sealed Pot Challenge no 035.

If you've got any blackcurrants they're delicious in a pastry case with sour cream mixed with eggs and sugar poured over them and then baked until set.3

I wouldn't use cream that's gone mouldy, high risk of Listeria with dairy products. I usually try and find something in the bin that isn't recyclable (e.g. a plastic bag that salad comes in) and scrape it into that before putting in the general waste bin.Life is mainly froth and bubble: two things stand like stone. I would put your normal black bag bin outside on the night before bin day and add the cream just before sealing the bag. No need to waste newspaper etc.

Most DIY problems can be solved by a combination of spanner, pliers, screwdriver, Allan key and a blade. (Hold it, twist it, cut it!) Very occasionally industrial language, a hammer and an adhesive may need to be added to the mix. (Curse it, hit it, patch it!)2 -
I wouldnt use it. I'm not brave enough.
I'm not sure why you cant water down the cream, add washing up liquid and pour it down the loo?
I would just stick the carton in the recycling bin

Thanks all for your suggestions. Sadly, this cream is too far gone to be used for cooking but, next time we have leftovers, I will keep your suggestions in mind. It has black mould on it.
I will drain off the excess liquid and bin it in my own black bag, just before the bins are collected this week.milasavesmoney said:Pip,

Posters could have misconstrued what you meant about 'bin' and thought you were agreeing with disposal in a public bin.
