What is the best way to dispose of…

Double cream that is growing black mould?  I don’t want to pour it down the sink, if possible, if that would block the pipes.

- Pip.

(Thought we could do with a thread about disposing of things that aren’t straightforward “chuck in compost bin”.  No bodies, please.)

Personally I would pour it down the toilet.
I don't have a compost bin and am not sure that it would be great there anyway.

I assume it's not solid enough to go in 'the bin' but you could mop up liquid with kitchen roll (a tad wasteful!) and then bin it. Just thinking, putting down toilet may contribute to the 'fatberg' problem.

Good idea @Katiehound. I am inclined to dump it into newspaper before binning it.

Mine doesn’t get hot enough, @retiredinfrance.  It can’t cope with that sort of thing.

I’d wrap it in newspaper and chuck it in a public bin.

If it's only mould on top I'd get rid of the mould and make butter, it's much better with turned cream in my opinion

newspaper would do if you have some - I normally put things in a small plastic bag tied up before dropping carefully into the outside bin.  (trying not to use disposable plastic but I bought these a number of years back and they are no good for anything other than carrying a few carrot sticks to work so just slowly working my way through them.)
