I must be making good use of my E7 as I see for the last 3 months my Day rate usage was 437 units. And 420 for the 7 hours night rate. But I do use dishwasher/ washing machine at night. Along with charging batteries and a couple of uses of boiling water.

    Yes, it's usually a false economy to use electricity where you could use gas.
    Are you making a saving being on E7?
    Most people will save money if they use at least 25% of their E7 electricity on the night rate (obvliously this varies depending on the exact tariff on offer). Assuming OP isn't substituting electricity for gas, they are using 49% on night rate, so will definitely be saving vs. a single-rate tariff.

  • Use Gas for heating. But all charging and vacuuming, washing clothes/dishwasher etc done in the E7 period.
