We made a holiday booking through an online travel company for flights and accommodation to the USA. The booking was accepted and there was no mention before we hit confirm that the booking was to be confirmed within 12 hours.
We then received confirmation of the hotel but not the flights within 12 hours. We cannot see the confirmed flights on our account at all. We also noticed that the holiday we booked has increased considerably in price today which may indicate a pricing error yesterday when we booked. The full holiday payment is pending with the bank. I can't get through to the agent to confirm either way.
Has anyone else found themselves in this situation? The terms and conditions state that holidays are not confirmed and by booking we are 'making an offer to purchase' and they will confirm in due course

Who is the company? All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
You have not named the OTA so difficult to comment further but the highlighted is fairly normal in OTA trading terms. In fact often 24-72 hrs can be norm. You may get a call saying that they can’t obtain the flights at the price originally quoted.ruby28 said:We made a holiday booking through an online travel company for flights and accommodation to the USA. Too late for you but it's never a good idea to book a flight via any other avenue than direct with the airline.1

Although some OTA’s are better than others.Expedia, Netflights - ones that seem to offer a good deal and have support if things go wrong (although Expedia offshore calls and it can be hit and miss).
Avoid - LastMinute, BravoFly, Opodo, eDreams, Kiwi, Travelgenio.0
