Lost Baggage

Like so many recent travellers, my case has failed to arrive from an Air Canada flight. This was 29th June and past the 21 day deadline. I'd much rather have my case back - I had some beautiful clothes bought specially that will no longer be available in shops i.e. I'd rather have my belongings than compensation.
I have been to the storage facility at Edinburgh airport (piles of AC luggage there!) but couldn't find mine. The baggage handler in the facility tells me it is still in Toronto according to tracking. What's the chance of getting it back? Should I visit the airport every week and look?
I have put in an insurance claim although I don't have receipts for everything (who has?!) but as I say, rather have my stuff!

You could go every week if you enjoy the trip, but it would be easier to wait for them to contact you when it returns.1

Presumably AC806 YYZ-EDI nonstop flight, so if you've personally eliminated its possible presence at the Edinburgh facility (well done), the handler must be right about it still being in Toronto. If the procedure for reporting and tracing has been followed correctly, what do AC say about their failure to deliver it..?Was there anything valuable inside the case that may have prompted it to be stolen by handlers when seen on scan..?Evolution, not revolution1

Nothing of value to anyone apart from me in the case. All my summer clothes, toiletries etc. Nothing worth stealing.
Definitely getting an air tag for future trips!0 -

Insurers wont expect you to have receipts for everything, they'll normally also accept photos of you wearing items etc too and even then they wont expect you to have photos of every pair of knickers etc. A lot of claims handling is about the whole picture looking cohesive... if you were going to the French equivalent of Butlins, could only provide receipts for items from Primark but claimed the suitcase had £20,000 of Chanel handbags in it which you have neither receipts nor photos of etc then they are more likely to decline the claim1 -
All I've had from AC is an acknowledgement and a message saying they are very busy.
I think you need to be insistent with AC that they locate and deliver your case. Have you called and spoken to anyone..?
