Morning all. It must have rained overnight so today is much cooler, although it's still showing 23.5c in my living room. A bit dull but some sun is promised for this afternoon.
Our local magpie flock has increased a lot this year and this morning we were woken early by a gang of six juveniles squawking at heaven knows what. Quickly followed by yet more builders who are doing a driveway at a house over the road. Over this last couple of years there are times when it's felt as if we're living on a building site! I'm not normally an early riser but, once awake, I'm up and about so most of today's jobs have already been done and it's not even lunchtime.
After lunch I'll have a wander up to the Co-op for the few bits and bobs that we need for over the weekend. There's a little bit or ironing to tackle too, but that shouldn't take more than 20 minutes so it's not a disaster if it doesn't get done.
Tea tonight will be a sweet & sour chicken with either rice or noodles (haven't decided yet) and for afters there's a choice of either sliced banana or grated apple with some Greek yogurt. Tomorrow I'll use up any yogurt that's left to make some fruit scones and I have some bacon bits to defrost for a couple of small quiches. And jam/lemon curd tarts from the pastry trimmings.
Take care and enjoy your day. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.9 -
Afternoon all, just had a late lunch because I'm clearing a wardrobe- still stuff of DS2s, he moved out nearly 2 years ago! A charity bag arriving yesterday spurred me on, I've already got quite a few for the hospice shop waiting.Had a lovely lunch out yesterday with my cousins, one wasn't well so 4 of us. We sat outside on the patio of a cafe next to a fishing lake.It got a bit windy and dull and we're back to 16 degrees today.I've got plenty of stuff in the fridge for tea, just not sure what I fancy
I need to ring DS2 in a minute to see if I have to do any DGC pick ups.Right better get on or else I can't go to bed for all the stuff lying on it! Take care all xx:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)9 -
Afternoon all, I'm late again, sorry. We had a power cut this morning so we decided to go over the van again today to take some more stuff over. We also needed to pull some sterilising liquid through the pipes, followed by clean water as it's been stood since 2019 so a lot of "is it coming through yet ?" No ! .... Now ? No ! then we realised that someone had opened the under bed tap the wrong way and it wasn't me 🙄 ! We're back home now and had a sandwich for lunch. There is a clothes wash in the wm which should dry outside nicely even though it's now clouded over. This afternoon I need to clean the rubber awning ladders and himself will oil the poles. No idea what to have for tea yet, I'm getting fed up with chips or salad, so maybe a lasagne from the freezer.
Hope everyone is feeling a bit cooler today, hugs to everyone.
Take care all

A quick late catch up, slept in a little and then had a mad morning of admin and phone calls including a tele consult with hospital and then quick dash to catch bus to knit and natter and odd bits of shopping.
Much cooler today, but bit short of fluids so catch up on drinks now before getting supper.
Hope everyone has had the best day possible. The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)9
