Morning
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Now light, dry underfoot but cloudy air feels much fresher and more comfortable.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy.
Dinner last night was salad, meats, hot new potatoes, not sure what we're having tonight.
Yesterday work was ok, short day today and then on days off until Tuesday.
Keep safe and well x

Morning all
Looks to be another nice day here but thankfully not as hot yesterday was 28 deg which seemed blisfully cooler than Mon / Tues.
Off to work for me today and last day of the week which is nice, I have a meeting tomorrow morning with another potential client and then im off to pick up another one in the afternoon and bring him back here, this one is a private client and I shall be having him every Thursday I know him well from work and he is simply lovely !
More quiche for dinner tonight with new pots and salad, its just too hot to have the oven on atm.
I will need to have a quick tidy through tonight but that wont take long.
I ordered our currency last night so will need to pick that up Saturday, getting excited now !
Have good days all xxx13 -
Morning folks. It feels a bit muggy this morning and apparently we had mizzle through the night. Best time! Now stopped and a dry day is forecast. I got all my washing done yesterday when I got back. All dry in record time.
I did fish and wedges in the air fryer for my tea, with some salad. It's still lazy cooking in the ongoing heat! No cooking today either as I am off on a bus jaunt with one of my bus buddies. I know it's not Wednesday but we are making an exception this week. We will find somewhere nice for our lunch I'm sure, no matter where we end up! It'll be lovely to let someone else do the cooking!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies or fed up. Take care one and all, and be safe. xx

Morning. At final count last night, one water butt is completely full, one is a third full, which is good. Just need more water butts for next year now...I might have over exerted myself a bit yesterday, need the stick to walk with today. Weirdly, it's easier to walk in shoes than barefoot. So plans for today have changed, no shovelling stones today, just a vague and airy house pottering, probably get on with some sewing stuff instead. After the optician anyway. I've had a cheese plant in pot for about 18 months now [it was my mothers and had been in the same pot for about 15 years] there were two leaves and only two leaves for the last year and there were no signs of it growing any more. I got fed up with it a couple of weeks ago, snapped off the bigger one in a last ditch attempt to 'wound' it so it did have somewhere to grow another leaf from. Looked at it today, lo and behold, a new nodule is breaking out on the side, so it's had a reprieve for now.Ruby, enjoy your weekend
yay, currency! Take care today folks, enjoy the cooler weather if you have it! Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi12 -

Morning All
A quick one from me, DGS is eating his breakfast and DGD is either asleep or watching her tablet in bed. It's been a very busy few days here but the DGC have been amazing even in the heat.
DS2 and DGF arrive today so it will be a busy house later, DS1 and DGF arrive on Saturday. DD is having a 30th birthday gathering on Saturday.
Off swimming again today and just remembered I have a haircut, the DGC will have to sit and wait as it desperately needs a cut!
Hope you're all managing with the heat.
Well done Ruby.
Take care. XX12 -
Morning folks.Yesterday was a flurry of massive pieces of cardboard and huge plastic coverings which were protecting my new furniture. The two blokes heaved, pushed and pulled to fit the big sofa through the tight right hand turn into my living room. The smaller sofa and chair seemed to glide in. All legs were put on and coverings removed then I sat in the midst of my 'splendour'. The colour is more redder than I thought but on the right side of it. Not a dark burgundy but a brighter shade of it. Camelot said she loves the colour so I'm reassured. They do brighten up the living room, the previous brown leather ones were just dull.Bloke up the hill came down with his quad and trailer to collect the recliner and stool, he's delighted by them. He took me outside to show me the small herd of deer grazing in the big field where the bulls normally live. Such a lovely sight.I'd cleared out the glove box, washed all the hats and scarves which dried fairly quickly and are now in the car boot for my next visit to Glasgow. I've kept my lovely Tilley hat, it'll be perfect for my holiday.Today will be quieter. I'll do a tip run with all the stuff taken out of the two awkward cupboards. Then I'll lounge around a bit. 😀
Happy Thursday to everybody.13 -
Morning all; cooler here today.
We had some rain last night, just after I'd watered the pots, and the temperature is right back down now. I checked the fridge earlier to see what we needed to eat up and found a pack of marinated chicken that was in date by a couple of days but had blown so will sadly have to discard that.
DH has ordered a new printer so we will have to go and collect that today. I have some vouchers that will pay for half of it and then there will be the fun of setting it up
Nothing else to report so will wish everyone a good day.12 -
Morning all dog walked and fed not sure what's on the cards today Mr T is delivering and i wanted to tidy the front step and 2 inlet bits they are full of winter boots and leaves I miss my porch and the doorway here is odd so we would have to open another door outwards and still there would be very little space so not sure its worth the aggro.
Taff do you ever slow down ?
Gers enjoy the new furniture
Ruby sounds like your plans are coming together
Izzy poor feet make sure you get your holiday you deserve it
Camelot enjoy your haircut I always nod off when my hair is getting washed
TA Look at you throwing caution to the wind with a different bus day enjoy your lunch
Right enjoy the day whatever you are up to stay safe xx

Good morning chums and another scorcher ahead today, around 26-7c in Kent. My DD and son-in-law are up in Essex today at Colchester for my grandson Henry's graduation. She said its pretty warm there as well. its hard to believe thats number three son finished at Uni , and only Mikey, the youngest to go. He starts at Essex this September, doesn't seem five minutes ago I was chasing the boys around to get their homework done whilst their Mum and Dad were both at work. I'm a very proud Grandma this morning as although I adore all of the boys our Henry is such a different chap from the rest bless him he's got a very wicked dry sense of humour and teases his brothers (and his gran ) mercilessly, DD has just sent me a photo of him all gowned up and for once he looks so solemn and serious and his Dad is looking proud as punch beside him.
The four boys are all so different in character but such likeable young men bless them. Two are teachers, and Henry has just graduated in finance and business studies.
He hasn't yet decided on what he wants to do and during the summer since he's been home took a labouring job on a building site to earn some cash
He says he's got the be the best educated hole-digger and brick-shifter in Kent. But that's our Henry he will do anything rather than just sit around
He will go far in life as he gets on with everyone and is a grafter.
I have an easy day today, not much to do, and its far too hot to do anything anyway so I think I shall just have a pottering day, feet up a bit of reading or knitting and just relaxing for a change
Hope everyone has a good day and manages to keep reasonably cool
Cheers chums

Hi everyone,
Jackie, congratulations to Henry.
Gers, they sound lovely.
Taff and Izzy, take it easy, such a painful condition.
I'm a bit late today, sorting out Esben for nursery, he had a little cry saying he didn't want to go but he walked in stoically enough which seems to be the pattern. He enjoys it when he's there. I have also tidied round so that the cleaner can vacuum etc. she is just about to leave.
I shall do some sewing this afternoon and watch the Tour de France as well, for some reason I find it mesmerising, the tactics and the sheer insanity of men spending three weeks riding hundreds of miles, usually in intense heat and up insanely high mountains.
Have a good day.8
