I don't think it can be 3 as then you would have 2 2s in the bottom column of 4 plus 2 1s in the top left and bottom right column and 2 2s also in top right columnMoneybot said:

Not submitting for me at the moment but i'm having a problem submitting on a few sites this morning so might just be me.
Not sure this one has an unique answer - couldn't A be either 2 or 3?
The bottom and top rows must be
3 2 4 1
1 3 2 4
but it works which ever is on the top5 -

Ok not sure how to explain but split them into 4 boxes of 4 squares so on your bottom set of numbers 1 and 3 from top line and 4 and 1 from second line are your first column of 4. 2 and 4 from top line and 3 and 2 from second line are your second column. Here already you have 2 2s in the second column so that can't work. An easier way to understand it might be put a cross through the middle of your bottom set of numbers. So it is split into 4 lots of 4 numbers. each set of 4 numbers must have 1234 in them. The answer can only possibly be 2.Moneybot said:

You have a double 1 in your first column and 2 is missing so you have 1341. You have a double 2 in your second column and 1 is missing so you have 2432. You have a double 2 in your 3rd column and 1 is missing so you have 2432 and you have a double 1 in your 4th column and 2 is missing so you have 1341.If anyone else does sudoku they will know as this is probably about the easiest sudoku you could get so hopefully they will confirm this.Moneybot said:

Hi Moneybot, in addition to each column and row containing numbers 1-4, there are 4 little blocks of 4 squares which should also contain each number from 1 to 4 so the answer has to be
3241
4132
2413
1324
which means the answer has to be 212 -

It's easily explained as it's a basic 4 square sudoku. The A has to be 2 because of the positioning of the 2 in the bottom right square.diddlydoop said:

Only easily explained if someone knows basic sudoku and if they did they wouldn't need it explaining in the first place.Midnighter said:

You can immediately deduce that A must be 2 without solving much at all.
The column headed by A must contain a 2.
The 2 in the third row means that the two squares with a star can not be 2, so A must be 2
