Anyone in stockport area? Edward Mellor and other Estate Agents

Anybody got any experience of estate agents in stockport area? My in-laws have had wildly differing valuations from a local (lowest) and two chain estate agents with branches nearby (EM as per title and Bridgfords who are part of Connells group I think).
Any positive or negative feedback about these agents? Looking at local comparables I think the local is being realistic and the others are blowing proverbial to get business.

I sold with Edward Mellor about 3 years ago. They were quite erratic and I found them difficult to manage, I wouldn’t use them again and certainly not in todays climate.1

I sold with Edward Mellor (Hazel Grove) last year and I thought they were actually pretty good, although that was the first time I ever sold a house so nothing to compare it to.1

Sold with Edward Mellor (2 years back), they were fine to be fair.
Bought from Ian Tongues, they were also fine, though sometimes were a little slow. Recently they have had properties not even available on their website and then ignored emails about them.
I know someone (buyer) who bought from a Woodhall's who are an independent and they really liked the buying experience with them.
Additionally I tried many years ago to but view several Bridgford houses, twice they didn't turn up to the viewing and once they were late and we were rushed but that might have just been that local branch.
Depends on the area you are selling in I suppose.1 -
I’ve heard Julian Wadden are good but never used them myself1

I'd never use Bridgfords, had a property massively over valued by them previously. Also when looking to purchase, I tried to arrange viewings but they wouldn't let me unless I spoke to their mortgage broker, even though I already had an AIP.1

Just to add to my earlier comment that I agree with others re Bridgfords. I’ve tried and failed to view several properties with them (not in Stockport but not far off) in the last few months and they are impossible to get hold of. Some of them were sat on the market for weeks as well. I’d be a bit annoyed if I was selling and potential viewers could never even get through on the phone!
