JustPark error leading to parking fine in Napier car park

Hi,
I have read through the sticky thread but can't see the info I need.
In a nutshell I parked in a Napier owned car park, paid via JustPark and ended up with a parking fine.
Turns out what happened was that JustPark got my reg no. completely wrong and therefore didn't register my vehicle as being parked.
I explained this to Napier on several occasions, and contacted JustPark who washed their hands and said there's nothing they can do.
I still have the text message proving I paid, and of course the bank statement showing the payment.
I've now had a letter and email from BW Legal chasing an increased amount.
Any ideas regarding how to fight this?
Thanks!

You'll fight it in court, like in all the other cases where a PPC issues a claim via BWLegal. What exactly did JustPark say happened:Turns out what happened was that JustPark got my reg no. completely wrongPRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thanks for the reply.
They said very little tbh, asked me if I entered the wrong reg no (I didn't- it wasn't even close to mine so it wasn't just one digit out).
They just said they were sorry to hear I had received a fine but that there's nothing they can do as it's between me and Napier.

Well that's not true. Their system caused this loss and you can sue JustPark. Send JustPark a SAR and ask for the source of the mystery gobbledegook car reg and what happened to the VRM you registered, how that was stored and why it wasn't used for this transaction.
You aren't meant to do any of this (complaints about the system failure and a SAR) by phone, obviously. No point phoning them up for a chat!
You know from the NEWBIES FAQS thread that this will be fought in court (no risk) and what a SAR is.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Ah ok that's really interesting- I'll definitely follow that up with JustPark.
Thanks for your help, much appreciated.

Have had similar issue with JustPark - entered reg correctly but on payment the app defaulted to my previous reg - obviously a significant software bug that I have reported to them but still await reply. On looking at my account details, their database states clearly "last vehicle used" with the correct reg - currently awaiting adjudication via the IAS as the operator states "JustPark nothing to do with us . . .". I have had other significant error events with the JustPark app as well - how can a parking operator assume that all this software-driven technology is perfect? I have been professionally involved in software development for over 45 years and know full well that bug-free software DOES NOT exist, and that most solutions are dangerously flakey . . . Of course, the level of detail required to enter a software bug request is far too high for the average punter to even think about . . .1
