I have received two curious letters from Lantern Debt stating they have took on my debt from simply be and j d Williams. Two business I have never heard of let alone shopped in.
Strangely sent to wrong address and two different spelling of my name, how do I deal with this? Thanks for any advice

For the moment, then I'd assume there is someone with a similar name to yours living at that other address.
Keep an eye on your credit reports though1 -
Commonly known as a mis-trace, it does happen, as fatbelly suggests, if they start reporting these accounts to your credit file, them a complaint will have to be made.

Thanks for the info, checked my experian and my credit rating remains unchanged.
Really frustrating receiving letters like this and upsets your mood when nothing to do with you and potential hassle over something I shouldn't have to worry about.
Best course of action at the moment is to do nothing then? Make no contact with them?0 -
Yes, but keep us updated with developments.
Nothing to worry about. The debt collectors' 'professional body' tell us that mis-traces don't happen and no one is ever targeted with another person's debts.
Not entirely true...0 -
Is there a benefit to call them? Or am i going to get some ogre trying to force someone elses debt onto me?0
-
You're going to get some school leaver call handler on a low wage and a bonus scheme.
Do nothing, don't worry. Post here when the send their next letter.1 -
So went for mortgage my credit score 974 and credit report clean, but this came up deeper investigation when going for a mortgage. So cross, experian have told me to add that address into my profile so I can pull across details and raise fraud. So angry that some company has plucked my name and assigned debt to me inaccurately0
