Hi,unless you have a normal socket close you could put a plug on them, otherwise will need a bit of rewiring.0

If you use electric panel heaters during the day it will be very expensive.Barnsley, South Yorkshire

Yes. That’s what the issue is. This is why I’m gonna see how much I end up using during the night to see if it’s worthwhile getting a storage heater back again. With regards to heating during day time Im prob gonna have to be quite frugal. Not sure what else I can do. I don’t really have hundreds of pounds around to install a storage heater at the moment.0

I’ve had a look at the link you gave - this looks amazing! These actually retail in excess of £500. Are reconditioned heaters reliable?frugalmacdugal said:Hi,did you dump old heaters? What size is heater in hall. You can buy reconditioned heaters Wasn’t sure of the size but they were fairly large.0 -
Hi,there's not much can go wrong with storage heaters, and any problem is easily fixed, though wouldn't use your 'handyman'.1

* CONTINUING ON FROM PREVIOUS THREAD*
Having got advice from you all, I have decided to try purchase 2 refitted storage heaters. I have found I can get 2 refurbished ones (3.5 Kw in living room and 2.5kw in hallway) for about £1100.I already have a third on the ground floor, just inside the main door.Just wanted to know is there any way to tell approx payback time on this- compared to if I just had 2 electical wall mounted heaters? And is this worth it?I also need advice on electricity tariffs- still deciding between a 1 year fix or variable one. Martin Lewis has suggested October rates are likely to increase upto 65% so a fix of less than this amount is worthwhile. Not sure if you guys have other opinions?
Current variable tariff is:Day 29.49 KWhNight 20.00 kWhFixed 1 yrDay 41.88Night 30.500 -
Are these heaters from the link given to you previously? If so then they appear to be older style models to me - if you can get the model details and post in here people will be able to advise.
My personal feeling is that installing non HHR model storage heaters at this point in time would be your big mistake number 2....🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

yes it is from that link, however that website was heavily outdated. I called the heating engineer of that company and he said he can offer the 2 storage heaters I quoted on the previous thread (3.4kw combo large size Newlec model NLCH24N and Creda 2.5kw single cable medium)EssexHebridean said:Are these heaters from the link given to you previously? Is this enough info to deduce if these are HHR storage heaters?0 -
Just researched a little and found these are not HHR. Following the advice given in the thread I will now be opting and investing for 2 x HHR storage heaters in the hope it’ll cut my eco 7 bill significantly.nabznab1 said:

Is this enough info to deduce if these are HHR storage heaters?I will be getting a 2.9kw combo for the living room (approx 4.5m x 4.5m) and a smaller 1.8kw for the hallway.1
