Oops, sorry.
I used to bank with them but then they closed the branch to one about 50 miles away so moved back to Ulster bank. I hadn't realised they had ceased operating in ROI.
And now Ulster have/are going.
Presumably Bank of Ireland will continue!! (where my account currently resides)Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

The Irish banking system is undergoing a bit of a shake-up these days.
KBC and Ulster Bank are leaving, so there's lots of people looking for a replacement bank. I switched from KBC to Permanent TSB, reluctantly as KBC suited my needs perfectly. I didn't like the idea of either BoI or AIB which are the two big players in the market.
Lots of people are starting to use the new app-based banks like N26 but I preferred a more traditional bank with branches. An Post and credit unions also offer current account banking.
As my pension income is in sterling I have retained a Halifax account and use Wise.com to transfer things over to Ireland.Retired in 2015.

Offshore sterling account in the Isle of Man or Jersey a suggestion - most major banks e.g. HSBC, Lloyds Barclays etc.0

After all residents in NI seem to be considered Irish - thinking nationality here- . Might be worth investigating0
