Hello after being MIA for over 3 weeks. 2 of the caravan sites we used had no internet and the majority of the time I had no phone signal either, the pay off for being in the hills and mountains, but a good holiday, except for the last day when I got my feet in a terrible tangle and pitched head first onto the tarmac. Ultra copious amounts of blood and a very worried OH (bless him). The first aid kit was well up to scratch so we patched me up and continued with a shortened walk, but kept bleeding so ended up 4.5 hours in Kendal Minor Injuries unit, they were lovely and sent me on my way all glued and cleaned up with a few dressings applied. My face is rather battered and shades of purple fading to green. I look just like one of those poor people you see on the news who have been badly beaten up. An expensive trip as new specs will be needed.
Lots of other stuff been happening too, keep thinking what next?, but it all gets resolved bit by bit.
nmlc thank you for the new thread, Gers happy new furniture and Ruby great news about your notice. TA I kept wondering how you and Sparkle cat were coping in the static van. Snoozer great baby news and Nelski fingers crossed on the house sale for you. I have gradually caught up with all the posts, but poor old brain won't hold all the information.
Take care all.The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)11 -
Hello all, I'm a bit late today, but I do have a note ! I was up early after a sleepless night and having a cuppa when there was an almighty crash through our trees and a Canada goose landed with a bump on the lawn 😱 Don't know who was more surprised, the goose or us. It hung around but didn't seem hurt, just confused 🤔. As I had an early interview appointment with the vampire nurse we left it wandering quietly around the garden and looking in the patio doors, which we had hastily shut. The nurse didn't know why I was there and a search ensued on the computer but finally took my blood, then we went on to the garden centre for coffee and a meander. We called in the meat van on the way home and by then happily the goose had gone and wasn't joined by the flock, so there was no need to call the RSPCA or RSPB !
This afternoon I have some meat to split as I bought a large BBQ pack ready for next week when the DGC stay for a few nights, although it'll probably be freezing/snowing by then 🤣 I also have a headache which will not depart so we may be in for some thunder. I'm hoping for some rain anyway just to clear the air as we only had spits and spots yesterday.
Gers enjoy your sofa
RedRuby congratulations on handing in your notice.
Maddie oh no, big ouch ! hope you're ok now. Nice to see you back

Afternoon folks. Arrived back home just before lunch. I was up at the crack of dawn, trying to beat the heat, packing, cleaning, stripping the bed and bagging up all my washing etc. I was shattered by the time DD came for me! I have vowed never to go again when a heatwave is forecast, the last few days (and nights!) have been horrendously hot and draining; Not caravan weather! When I have been in those temps before I have always been in an air conditioned hotel near the sea or a pool!
I have put the last few bits of food away that I brought back but my case of unworn clothes, toiletries etc is still sitting at the bottom of the steps. My lights wash is now chugging away but the weather forecast says a chance of rain so I am dithering whether to peg out or leave it until tomorrow.
Enjoy your new sofas GERS, much happy sitting on them! IZZY you deserve a medal working through those temperatures. RUBY woohoo notice gone in finally!! SNOOZER good to have confirmation it's a girl. MADDIE welcome back but sorry you have been in the wars. My brain has got addled with the heat so apologies to anybody I have missed. ((HUGS)) for all our poorlies and poorly loved ones. Take care xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"8 -

Pleased to hear the sofas have arrived, Gers. Enjoy, it's been a long time in coming!
Well maddie, I'm surprised to hear you say you had a good holiday, after all that's happened! Take care now, no more feet getting tangled up.
Oh nanny, I had visions of you returning to a whole flock of geese on your lawn. Sounds like his sat nav wasn't working!
You need another holiday after the one you've just had, TA. Take it easy, the unpacking and washing can wait.Be kind to others and to yourself too.11 -
Afternoon/evening! Very late one from me. I got up at nine [ went to bed at three when it was finally cooler] and then got distracted by the garden so I've been righting that all day, potting on, strimming, mowing, digging up and replanting some stuff, tidying the garage, watering the greenhouse, seed collecting, errant couch grass removing and I've just come in now a bit wet because it is hissing down and I wanted to check the water butts were filling. They were blocked so I got soaked to my pants unblocking it. Never mind, I won't melt. Two last jobs to do, move the old stones and then cut a cushion down to make two smaller ones. Not today though.Happy new furniture day Gers! Maddie, ohhh ow ow ow ow! At least it was a good holiday until then! Nanny, maybe they heard good things about your garden and wanted to check it out
TA, wb, and no, I can just imagine how hot it was in a caravan. Izzy, have you tried them with a debit card? That did make me laugh...Ruby, congratchoo-bloody-lations! Long time coming! Well, hopefully the temperatures are conducive to a good nights sleep for all today...Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi8
