Help! Cos of living payment

Options
Hi all, I’m wondering if someone can help me? I would like to know if I am eligible for the cost of living payment, my payment date for my uc was the  19 April to 18 May 2022 award £240, I then received a nil award for assessment period 19 May to 18 June 2022 due to working extra hours, 19th June to 18th July back to £240, on the gov site is says nil awards are not eligible , but then I did receive a payment in the Assessment period required, I am confused . Com.
any one know the answer to this?
thanks

You will be entitled to a Cost Of Living payment as £326 (the first part of the payment) is paid to anyone whose UC assessment period ended between 26 April and 25 May 2022 and where a payment was made.
  • Thank you for your advise, it’s very confusing having a payment and then a nil award in the assessment period required , il wait and hope I receive it

You didn’t. The relevant assessment period was the one that ended between 26th April and 25th May. In your case that’s the AP that ended on 18th May for which you said you received a payment. Any other APs are irrelevant.

  • Thanks for taking the time to look, I asked universal credit via my journal and I got an automated response basically saying if I was entitled I would be paid it by the 31st July so was unable to get clarification from them, so appreciate the time taken to send me a reply, i think what got me confused was the nil award part 🤦‍♀️

The Cost of Living scheme is separate from UC and is not, as I understand it, administered by them so they don’t know.
