Tesco eCoupon

ok, so about a year or so ago I took out one of those delivery saver plans with tesco to have groceries delivered during covid.

Fast forward onto august / sept last year and I was informed Tesco would no longer supply bags, so I cancelled my plan - there was a fuss and I needed to get to speak to someone and in the end they gave me two coupons one for the refund and one for "inconvienience"

Unfortunately I forgot about both - I only realised when I had an email from Tesco the other day and it reminded me of the eCoupon - I checked my mail and found the coupon but then realised that they only last for 6 months.

Tesco are saying they won't reissue, but as this was a refund for services not used / delivered can they put a time embargo on when the eCoupon can be used?

It's about £50 so I could do a fairly decent free shop for that!

Depends on the T&C's of the original service. If what they issued you was a goodwill gesture, then no.

Or if you had in fact been entitled to a cash refund at the time, whether you had instead accepted the voucher as an alternative - in which case you may now be stuck with it.

It’s not really a consumer rights issue as the product was still there to be used, Tesco were still delivering groceries. So probably is a goodwill voucher and the terms stated apply.

Unfortunately I echo the above - I think it was goodwill so you have no rights per se.
