Churchill auto-renew

After a bit of help - My wife has a got a reminder from Churchill regarding her car insurance. It said it will auto-renew but she has found it cheaper elsewhere so is wanting to cancel - surprise surprise you cannot cancel online or be email (they appear not to have one) but only over the phone - she's tried twice now, both times she was on hold for over 2 hours before giving up - what can she do? I thought about going to the bank to block the payment but they will simply renew it and then she will owe them - surely it should not be this hard to not auto-renew?

Need to persist on the phone, their lines open at 8am, its normally quickest to get through if you start dialing a minute or so before they officially open the lines.

Phone the complaints line.   It should have less of a queue and you can raise a complaint about it as well as getting through.

Tried that one - the complaints number takes you through to the main 0345 number sadly (and in the list of options there is no option to complain)
  • Update - she finally got through after another hour on hold - they are blaming it on short staffing due to the heat! surely these companies should have an option to cancel online, at least cancel your auto-renew. Thanks all

Say the lines open at 8am, you start ringing at 07:59.
