    Hi,
Thaks to you all. Castle, yes I will contact Bpa and make a complaint obout smart parking's breaching 23.6 of the bpa's code of practice and will of course keep you all informed.
A bit silly I know, I did send a rather sarcastic letter of not so much of a thanks to Debt recovery plus to their po box 219, manchester, M34 0DG but silly me I forgot to put a stamp on the envelope, oops.

I have now sent a letter of complaint to the Bpa regarding smart parking's behaviour. See below.

    Dear Harriett lock,
Two days ago I received notice form smart parking stating the aforementioned parking charge notice has been cancelled.

There has clearly been a breach of the British parking association's code of practic with regards to this case.
Please accept this reply to yourself as an official complaint to the British parking association about the breaching of the British parking association's code of practice by smart parking which they MUST adhere to in particular 23.6 of the code which I will draw your attention to, 'When you receive a appeal about the issue of a parking charge, you must stop work on processing the charge immediately. You must not increase the charge until you have replied to the appeal'.

You got to mention that Smart Parking have failed to include a copy of their reply to your original appeal.

    Hi all,
A response today from the Bpa with regards to my complaint about smart parking's conduct.

    Thank you for your email.

I note that the charge has now been cancelled. Please note should we identify a breach of a point raised in our Code of Practice, our role is to seek rectification by the operator - if the charge was issued in error or another administration error has been identifeid and the charge has subsequently been cancelled, we would not investigate this further as the operator has taken the appropriate steps to rectify their error.

I hope this information is helpful.

    Kind regards

    Anne Bevis
