Help with bike lock

I bought a secondhand assist bike and the seller had lost the key to the battery. Does anyone have any tips on what key might fit?

Do you mean what sort/type of key?
And even if you know this, you'll still have to pick the lock

Contact the manufacturer about a replacement or try lockdoctor.biz or similar.

Thanks, it came from halfords and they have no idea as their similar bikes now use different locks.

It looks like this type of lock that BMW Motorrad use/used on panniers and top boxes , they're usually removable by turning the key to the unlock position and pressing in the bottom sprung plate with a suitable point via a small access hole.  However in the absence of a key or lockpicking skills unless its already in the open position you'd probably have to drill it out which if you don't know if a replacement size is available presents a catch 22 situation.

We used https://cutkeysdirect.co.uk/ for getting a key to a mailbox lock and had great service after the one originally bought from another company was totally the wrong key shape.

A clearer photo of the lock will be required looking down the barrel to see if there are pins top and bottom or just one side etc. If you can get a photo of any other key for this lock type (eg maybe off an eBay listing or some owners forum) that also helps them a lot. Based on the key code they identify 3 different potential brands of lock it could be.
