    Report benefit fraud here.

While that's undoubtedly a route that can be pursued, I'd suggest that it should be fairly low down OP's list of priorities, as she clearly needs to concentrate on regaining control of her own accounts, sorting out the fraudulent debts, etc, rather than getting sidetracked onto less important matters that don't concern her directly....

I would report all to the police.
  • Will the police tell her I’ve reported her and speak to her?? She’s so manipulative. She’ll be able to cover her tracks or something, I know it. If she’s gotten away with benefit fraud, and changing my bank details, speaking as me on the phone, emailing as me on the phone, able to open bank accounts and credit cards in my name, how can the police investigate? they will ask her for proof of something, and I’m sure she’ll be able to provide the proof, as she has all my ID details etc, having lived with her for 28 years.

My passport, I cancelled/reported it as lost last year. But all that does is means no one can travel using it. However, that same passport can be used for opening accounts and surpassing various ‘supply ID’ parts of things eg tenancy agreements, opening accounts, selling cars etc.

She has properties, none in her name, but in a friend who moved back to New Zealand 15 years ago, my elder sibling  ( who I’m estranged with and she ran away to get away from my mother so struggled because mother got a mortgage under her name when she was a student), and she has named me and my husband the landlord! She’s also managed to put that I live at that property and her property. So car is at address of her property she rents out, my dla is at her residential property etc

j feel I’m mayoralty screwed and I don’t think there’s a way to get out successfully

    Now you’re catastrophising,
You need to tell your husband and report the frauds to the police and the relevant banks or you need to accept everything in your name will come back on you at some point. There isn’t an inbetween.
It’s not dragging your husband into it, it’s asking him to support you because that’s what partners do. Do you still claim benefits and do you manage them yourself?
Do you have a social worker at all?

The other thing you can do is report get hold off your credit reports from all the credit reference agencies and see what they show as being in your name.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

Were you on here last year? I seem to remember you, @GloriaShaw85. There’s a lot of knowledgeable people on here, so answer their questions as best you can so they can get the right advice to you.

Definitely share it with your husband - unless you think it would make him really anxious - in which case, have you got any friends you could trust? Would you qualify for a support worker? The local council should be able to advise you on that.

    would've . . . could've . . . should've . . .

    Exactly.
This saga is going around in circles getting nowhere - time for action, a lawyer and/or police for resolution.

  • I don’t understand how to report the crime.

It only seems to want to take physical crimes  I’ve stated that the crime is still ongoing and it wants me to call

when I state crime not taking place still and it’s “online” then I get told to report to ActionFraud

Hi Ms Chocaholic. What is that, and how could I get one?

Just RING 101 & report the crime. Or if you have a police station near you. Simply walk in & talk to someone.
