The date LCWRA becomes due depends on the date you notified them of your health condition on what period your monthly payments cover.  LCWRA is only paid for the fourth full period after you declared the condition. It appears unlikely that you will be due any arrears.

When you say you put your claim in for LCWRA, what exactly do you mean?  Handing in fit notes is usually classed as notifying them of your health condition.

I don't understand how you have been giving in Fit Notes for over a year if you only told them you had a health issue in March 2022. You're going to need to provide more information for anyone to be able to advise.

I have been claiming uc for a while now and have been handing them sick notes for a year plus.
I’m still claiming uc and in March I started claiming limited capability for work I got accepted for that at the end of July

So I’m wondering if I will get any backpay from them at all

This doesn't make sense. What do you mean you started claiming claiming LCW? Did you report a health condition when you first started supplying Fit Notes?

I don’t get what’s hard to understand that

I have been claiming universal credits for a while they was asking me to provide fit notes so I have been providing universal credits with fit notes for the past year+.

Then In March 2022 my key worker put an application in for LCW for me, I had my LCW assessment and got granted LCWRA in July 2022

im sorry if I’m confusing but this is why I have asked for advice because I’m confused by it myself

The confusion is because you should have been referred for a work capability assessment 29 days after first handing in fit notes.

I have a feeling you should be entitled to back pay from the 4th full AP after handing in fit notes (if they were continuous) but I don't currently have the brainpower to work out how to check whether that's correct or not (sorry).  Hopefully others will know for sure.

I have been having this debate with my uc for a while, nobody ever mentioned anything about it to me until my key worker from the homeless shelter filled one out with me to send off

That's why it was confusing. They shouldn't have asked you to provide Fit Notes unless you had declared a health condition. Did you declare a health condition when you claimed UC (and when was that)?
