Two-Factor Authentication weakness?

Options
I get an abbreviated message flash up on my mobile screen following an authentication request sent to my mobile after having input a username and password (usually) when accessing a financial account online. This is usually in the form of a 6 digit code. I can see the code without having to input my 4 digit pin in order to view the whole message. I am slightly uncomfortable about this. I realise the risk is very small of a fraudster being able to use this 6 digit code and would require them having my phone and also knowing my username and password. I am slightly reassured that the Santander authentication messages do not reveal their longer one time passcodes without having to input my mobile pin. Should I be concerned? Is there a way to stop text messages containing a security code from flashing up on my screen? I must admit the lazy part of me likes the ease of seeing the 6 digits flash up.
