Morning
Horrid day already here......so hot. Looking forward to Weds when it breaks. Maybe get some sleep then. Me and sun just don't get on anymore. Last night I was bitten by goodness knows what so this morning woke to a massive bruise and a rash all down the arm. More fun when I got up got in the shower Got most of me done and then a power cut. Hobbled down stairs to the power thingy (technical term) which lives at the end of the garage. Had to climb over lots of stuff (in a towel and dripping hair) think gladiator! all sorted now but I prefer a more peaceful start to the day.
So hoping for a less eventful rest of the day. Off to see mum soon but not much else planned.
Enjoy the day if you like the heat11 -
Hi everyone,
We're definitely in the red zone, in fact we're only a few hundred yards away from the A1 which they're saying will be the hottest part of the country. We switched the fan on early and with the curtains closed we're ok. The living room has doors on to the south facing garden which at most times is great but on days like today not so much.
Steve has gone for a blood test at the drive through centre, keeping his fingers crossed they are not closed. Laura has a scan this afternoon and has asked me to go with her because Brian is busy.
We had a lovely time at Crystal's baby shower, her sister's had put a lot of effort into the food and games. It was very hot in the garden though and the paddling pool Crystal had ordered didn't arrive.
dp1, That must have been a shock, well doone on getting it back.
TA enjoy your last couple of days away.
Have a good day.11 -
Yes, I was rather unnerved by the men, more shocked at their cheek TBH. They had even moved the wooden double seat to sit on, and then moved it back before they left. Tidy intruders!Earlier this morning I did a quick cool wash and got it all hung outside before I went into town to collect my AUD$ (I like to be organised). From the garden I've collected six strawberries from one plant. It's a new one so wasn't expecting great things this year, but will do in the future. After an early fruiting I thought that it had finished so was pleasantly surprised to see more.DP1 - what a shock for you and well done for coping. The sun is shining here though there's still plenty of white fluffy clouds, what is lovelier is the lack of wind. The washing is barely moving on the whirlygig.11

Evening everyone
So hot today, tried to keep the pup cool, damp towel, shade, under the bed storage filled with cold water in the shade. She has slept a lot today. Still too hot to walk her even now.
Friend came over for lunch, had salmon & salad with a glass of Rose, was very nice.
Not very hungry tonight but ds2 made garlic stuffed mushrooms, eaten with some Tiger Bread.
Plans made to visit my Uncle & Aunt in France in August with DM.
Hope you’ve all managed to stay cool today.7
