Morning
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Now light, dry underfoot but cloudy. Wash load ready to peg out.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy.
Lunch yesterday was roast chicken - thrown together from what I had, was nice.
Back to work today, so what delights await me!
Keep safe and well x

Morning all
Hot already ere this morning, I have opened all the doors and windows to let the cool morning air in, I should think work will be very uncomfortable today.
We did 16 miles on the bikes yesterday, ended up sitting by the river bank with a cold beer before cycling home, it was really lovely and you get a cold breeze on the bikes.
Gnocchi for dinner tonight with garlic bread and salad its too hot for anything else, we will eat in the garden and hope for a breeze !
Have good days all and take care xx13 -
Morning all. 24 degrees in the living room so far but have the curtains pulled and some windows open so not too bad.
One load of washing doing at the moment then will wash the towels. Need to get some milk, fruit and a paper so will pop out before it gets too hot. DH is meeting some friends for a pub lunch; organised weeks ago when they had no idea of the temperatures. That means he won't want an evening meal so I'll have the stray veggie lasagne from the freezer. I did make some cookies yesterday to use up the remains of two chocolate bars so there's something to nibble on.
Another 1lb off on the scales this morning and I'm now extremely close to the top end of my BMI. We had our main meal yesterday as a late lunch and then I only had a cookie before going out in the evening, where I drank sparkling mineral water.
Enjoy your day everyone and stay cool.11 -

Morning all. It's the first bright morning for over a week along with some warmth. We won't get the high temperatures forecast for most other places though should be lovely. Not so much a heatwave, more a bit of summer.Yesterday I did a bit more sorting out, filling a CS bag and the car boot. When I went to my car I heard faint voices though no people in sight. Found two older blokes in my barn, sitting on my wooden seats, flasks and sandwiches on the wee table having a rest from their long walk. 😱 I was so taken aback at their nerve even though they apologised. I left them to finish their break not sure if I was tickled or annoyed. They knocked (on my open door) to apologise again as they left.Later in the evening a neighbour called round for a wee G& or two. A most pleasant end to my day. I am banking on him coming back with a mate today to remove the second sofa. Then I can get into the cupboard to clear out the stuff which is lingering in there.I hope that everyone can enjoy the lovely weather whilst keeping safe.Happy Monday to all.12

Morning! Not looking forward to the heady delights of 38° today, so all hatches have been battened. Absolutely no plans for today. I will phone the opticians after though, there's something up with my new contact lens prescription, the glare/bleed at night is ten times worse than it was with the old pair, something is wrong somewhere.Gers, bet that was a bit unnerving. Not much to say to today except keep cool if you can, don't go crazy over exerting....take care...Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi11

Morning folks I'm still with you and trying to keep up to you all. Sausage fingers have a mind of their own onmy phone and yesterday I had no signal all day.
Yesterday was hot hot hot but today will be hotter. We are included in the red zone. I had my brekkie al fresco.but I am in now for the day with all windows open. I am here until.Wed morning when DD comes for me. The static is much airier than our old Bailey would have been! It would have been horrendous in this heat.
GERS I had to smile at the cheek of the hikers! But what a shock when u went in there. Have a good day folks take care in this heat xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"12 -
Morning all going to be a scorcher today i am just outside of London so we will be feeling it . Dog has been walked at 6 this morning and all windows and doors are open till the sun moves round then the downstairs back will be closed and curtains pulled except the bedrooms upstairs which have their curtains closed just so the hot air rising can escape and their is some circulation going on
Dinner tonight salad with quiche
Have a good day one and all stay safe xxxSlava Ukraini12 -
Morning all, hope those in the hot zone can keep cool. We're up to 23 deg atm, which is pleasant. We're like you Izzy with a cool house - thick stone walls keep it cool, upstairs hotter but curtains shut etc.I expect DDog will retreat down to the cellar where it's blissfully cool soon. The back door is open but with the fly curtain upDH going to physio at 11 so I'll sneak a lift with him & go in Al di, get some salad stuff, maybe a quiche- good idea Bella
Gers bit of a shock for you
TA hope you can keep cool..ishNot much else going on so I'll love you and leave you with a gentle cooling breeze :)x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)11 -
Morning all, everybody coping ? 😁 I didn't find it too hot yesterday ( 28) but we stayed inside, so we'll see what we get today. I got on well with my jigsaw yesterday, sorted the fridge and cleaned the inside, I also got a few other small jobs done that had been pending for a while. Today I need to do some ironing, not my favourite job far from it, but I'll probably do it this morning before we get the predicted heat and that's all that's planned for today. I have my eye on sorting a cupboard or two but I'll see if I get around to it, no problem if not, there's always tomorrow.
Mr Fix It is going to ring to book a holiday this morning as we emailed the site last night and they have a pitch... Yay ! Now we have to finish getting the van ready. Nothing is sorted for tea tonight, we'll just go with what we feel like later, there's plenty in the freezer/fridge/stores. I'll put the bins out later ready for tomorrow as our bin men are temporarily starting at 6am to beat the heat.
NMLC hope work goes well today
Gers didn't you put your intruders to work shifting something heavy as penance ? They had such a cheek ! Bet they felt really embarrassed.
Wicked lady snap ! I've lost another 1lb too. Think mine was from shifting all that gravel 😏
TA take care in the red zone, look after yourself and Sparkle.
Cooling hugs to those in need, especially anyone at work.
Take care all, stay safe and well.

Morning everyone
I did have a catch up last night but have now forgotten what everyone said!
Gers - what a cheek!
Had a lovely weekend with little one - spent all day Saturday out in the garden and made a house out of cardboard - she said it was amazing haha I cut a hole in the side and stuck a cardboard tube through for a telescope - she spent ages looking fo birds.
Bit of an emergency yesterday morning...little one rolled off her bed and the tube that goes into her tummy must have got caught and came out. She was screaming and I went a bit blank looking at the contents of her medical bag...rang DD and woke her and she talked me through what to do. Got the new tube in....lots of cuddles and she quickly calmed down. The hole in her tummy can close up very quickly which would mean an operation. At least now I know I can do it....
I've got work at lunchtime so just going to get a few jobs done and then have a sit in the sun before I go down...I have ice lollies ready to take with me!
Hope everyone has a good day x11
