Velux Opening Tool

has anybody got any good seller for a Velux window opening tool?

Looking online they seem to be over £20 with a pole. I was hoping to just get the end and attach to my kitchen mop or broom handle.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Trouble is with that is that you would have to use a screw to secure to your broom or mop as they won’t be secure enough to pull open a velux, plenty on Amazon, one here with ok reviews https://www.amazon.co.uk/Chrome-Windows-ATTIC-Doors-Lights/dp/B07Q5HWLDC/ref=sr_1_2?crid=LQGF46TUF6R&keywords=vellum+window+pole+opener&qid=1657991971&sprefix=Velum+op%2Caps%2C64&sr=8-2

personally I bought one already on a pole

The force you need to pull open the window, particularly a window that hasn't been open in a while, is strong. I'd pa £20+ for the piece of mind that you have a kit that works. Not much use needing to open the window and finding that all you have done is pull the attachment out of the pole and the hook is resting on the window bar.

If you are in the habit of leaving the pole hanging from the open window, as a reminder that the window is open, you do occasionally find yourself walking into the pole. Better the pole stays on the window than the knock causes it to fall off the window and clonk you on the head as it falls. The shape from velux is more likely to stay in situ than a self fashioned hook and pole.

Is this about my self made opener? I've used it for years without a problem, I'd suspect mine's stronger than whats available from Velux. Admittedly if you're incapable of making a usable tool then buying one is probably the best option.
Personally I've never needed to leave a pole hanging from a window to indicate a window is open so have never risked being clonked on the head by walking into an inconveniently and potentially dangerously placed pole.

What I did was use a decorators pole and install a mini roller on it. If you then remove the roller you have a great tool for opening and closing a velux window.

    Thanks for the ideas
i should have been a little clearer, my velux had a handle the width of the window which pulls down in 2 stages, first stage is to open the air vent, second is to release the catch.
Unfortunately the type you have suggested isn’t suitable sarah1972
It needs to be like this:
