Suitable oil for Hammer Drill

I am having a problem with my hammer drill which I have not used for a couple of weeks. Trying to put the drill bit into the tool holder, the bit does not click in securely - remains loose. It takes many attempts for it to lock in place. The manual recommends a spray of MOS2 oil into the tool holder if the drill is not used for a long period of time to prevent the piston from seizing. I had not previouly heard of or bought MOS2 oil until today. Does anyone know if WD-40 or Silicone oil would be ok?

WD40 won't harm it to free it.  3 in 1 is good as any as a light oil for jobs such as that.

    is it an SDS fitting?
I use this Grease but generally only use it sparingly and when it starts to get stiff or I have trouble changing bits. I did try a period of regular greasing, but that just makes a massive mess and I got sick of it

Oil/grease combined with concrete/brick dust makes for a very effective grinding paste.

If oil/grease is needed, use it very sparingly.

A lot of grease would prevent the dust getting deep inside? But i always try to use a dust cup or water hose if possible, or outside.
