Problems with MyJar and ACI

Hi all,
As you may be aware, MyJar fell into administration and for the last 18 months have a had a complaint from me with regards to affordibility etc. As part of this process, they agreed to remove the loan from my credit file along with it's associated default.
I had a letter today from ACI who I assume the debt has been sold to now, it's a letter advising they will add a default to my credit file if I don't cough up £2k in the next 14 days. MyJar say my balance is £970, I suspect because the refund has been offset against my account.
Can they do this? With the administrators wrapped up I can't contact anyone. I've written to them saying I'll pay half the outstanding balance £485 but I wanted to see you you guys thought.
Thanks,
Matt

If you got a refund (particularly if they offset it against the loan but it was some small amount of pennies in the pound) then you need to clarify with them if they are cancelling the debt or keeping it as valid and then go back to the debt collectors. I'd suggest posting this on loans not on the credit rating forum
