Facebook on Android phone

Recently, when I try to reply to Facebook posts on my Android, I get a really annoying box with predictive texts that virtually covers the screen. This makes it difficult to correct my typos, as I can't see what's underneath the box with predictive text.

Any ideas how I can get rid of this annoying feature?

I think this is a Google/Android keyboard thing. Not sure you can turn it off.

Which keyboard do you use? 
Disabling auto correct would be a good thing to try first.

I use the default keyboard in the phone - I haven't changed it, but this started happening in recent weeks.

 How do I disable autocorrect? Technology changes so quickly I can't keep up!

It would help if you told us what phone this was and what version of Android you are running?
