Partner has just had this upgrade from his company as is home based only problem is it is not compatible with his present 22 ins monitor, his previous HP notepad was.  Finding difficult using 14 inch laptop screen.....and his monitor has a small type scart plug, which will not fit into any socket on new Dell.

He wants to get a monitor is this possible and what will work....some on Dell site, put to be honest - he has printer plugged in mouse and keyboard....so goodness knows how he can get a monitor connected.....can help

Does the Dell have an HDMI port?

Edit: According to Dell it has:

2 Thunderbolt 4 ports with DisplayPort Alt Mode/USB4/Power Delivery
    1 HDMI 2.0 port

So get a monitor either a Thunderbolt or HDMI port and appropriate cable.

Sounds like a VGA port maybe?
    vga port

What is the model number of the monitor?

You can get a Thunderbolt to VGA adaptor, make sure its Thunderbolt 3 or Thunderbolt 4 though as these are interchangeable but thunderbolt 1 and 2 were different socket shapes

Could also be a DVI but there are three flavours of DVI, with two of them it'd just be a HDMI to DVI cable you need, with the third DVI-A then you need an adapter again.
