Emoov listing

Hi,
I listed my property for sale using Emoov in 2020 and paid upfront for the package with the understanding that I can always make the listing live again.
I've just tried to login and can see that Emoov doesn't exist anymore!
https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/news/2018/12/online-estate-agent-emoov-goes-into-administration---here-s-what/
It looks like they've been bought by Mashroom.
I emailed the Mashroom support team who simply say they don't do that anymore and best of luck.
I paid ~£900 at the time and thought it a good bargain due to being able to relist. I had great photos that I want to reuse and the listing itself.
I never received any notice of Emoov shutting down or my account being closed.
Would trading standards support a refund?

Which company did you contract with? (i.e. Emoov Limited, or what?)0

Did you pay by CC? You might have some rights under S75 if you did - in which case I'd get in touch with your bank.0

Thank you for the replies, I'm checking through my emails and emoov was already owned by Mashroom when I signed up.
The invoice I have on file says paid by credit card to "Mashroom Ltd t/a Emoov" .
I'm pretty sure I paid by debit card however. I don't have a credit card.

Trading Standards do not get involved in individual cases.
The link you supplied refers to a news item from December 2018, over a year before you used Emoov.. Emoov still has a website but it seems to be non-functioning other than to connect to Mashroom which appear to be involved with lettings only.
As it appears you have already listed your home once, then you cannot expect a full refund of your £900, the best you could hope for would be a refund for the difference between a one time listing fee and the ability to relist fee. Try talking to Mashroom and see what they say, but I have my doubts that they will agree. The other thing is that the current Mashroom may not be the same entity as the Mashroom you signed with. In which case you have no hope of a refund. If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0 -
Just write it off and move on, it clearly states emoov are in administration, the company has gone and so has your money. I hate to say it but best bet to sell is a traditional estate agent, just screw them down on their fee and sole agency period.
All these modern on line agents seem to have a catch and hidden extra's, just read the purple bricks reviews, might make you feel better you are only £900.00 down..0 -
I wish I could just write off a £900 investment.
They've come back to me and are looking into whether they can locate my account and listing so fingers crossed it can be revived.
The article is all I could find about any changes to Emoov online. From my records, when I signed up to Emoov they were actually already owned by Mashroom. Surely if Mashroom shut down the Emoov site they should have let existing customers know?0
