Weird issue with smart meter

The gas usage data (kWh) shown on the IHD will never be 100% accurate. The calculation that converts the volume of gas used as recorded by your actual meter is carried out by a gas proxy meter built into the communications hub. The gas proxy meter uses a fixed calorific value for the kWh conversion. Gas bills use the average calorific value of the gas supplied during the billing period: truncated to one decimal place.

I'm with EDF and my wife always notes down the monetary value we have spent each week via the home display box.
EDF's  phone app shows around 3 to 5 pence more in their favour per week.
I am probably sure we are not the only ones experiencing this.
