EDF Fix Total Service Jul24v3 - have I made a mistake?

That tariff was only for existing EDF customers. They have different ones for customers on SVT and those coming off a fix ed tariff in the near future.SarahB16 said:
If you don't mind me asking were you previously an existing EDF customer and were you previously on a fixed or variable rate tariff with them?folacks said:
Did you get the credit added?itzmee said:I switched from standard variable with EDF to this tariff when Martin made his announcement about predicted cap rises on Friday, but I'm not sure if I have made the right decision. I am still in the cooling off period so could still cancel. My energy usage will also change shortly as we are changing from a gas hob to an electric induction hob, so the only gas used will be a combi-boiler for water/heating. Also my son, who likes to have at least one long shower a day and run his electric fan all night, will be moving out soon, so we will be saving even more!
EDF new costs on this tariff are:
Electricity unit rate: 41.55p per kWh
Daily standing charge: 48.13p per day
Gas unit rate: 13.059p per kWh
Daily standing charge: 27.22p per day
£300 exit fee (£150 each)
Is this a reasonable fix to change to from the variable rate. For context there are 4 (soon to be 3) adults in a 3 bedroom house, approx current usage 13,000 khw gas and 5550 electric.
Also I am waiting for EDF to confirm that I can have the offer of £150 credit applied to my account for fixing direct, as it didn't give me the option to select this (as per Martin's update last week). I called them to ask if I could have it applied and they asked for my email details offering this, but when I pointed out I got the code from this site they offered to refer this to their billing team, but it might take 45 working days for an update. I pointed out that I only had 14 days cooling off period, so I'm waiting for the advisor to come back to me.
Any help would be gratefully received.
When I switched I used the code on the website and it was accepted. Luckily I took a screenshot. Still waiting for the credit (yes I know it says it can take up to 30 days after the cooling period) but I also know many people seemed to have received it instantly.0 -
Whenever I hear Cornwall Insight saying the typical dual fuel user will pay £4,200 in January 2023 I know they say what the typical user uses in kWh but does anybody actually know what the latest actual unit rate and daily standing charge forecasts are please, i.e. for October 2022 and then for January 2023? Thank you.pochase said:Did you get an email with the offer of the £150 or did you just used the code?
Several people were saying that it only worked immediately for those who were offered the £150. So you might need to wait and see if they give you the £150.
In any case with the unit rates you got you are a big winner anyway now.0 -
Has been posted here dozens of times. Here is my guesstimate based on CI.

In any case with the unit rates you got you are a big winner anyway now.I never received an e-mail about the offer. I took the code from here and used it for switching my gas tariff. The website accepted the code before clicking the final button to sign up, with a green tick or whatever. However, if I tried to sign up for dual fuel (I'm gas only due to SOLR) it wouldn't accept the code. So I stuck with gas only and the credit was there by the following day, £157.50 as they add VAT!If the code wasn't accepted there and then, I suspect people won't be getting the credit, unfortunately.0 -
I just used the code from the website and it worked there.. I've called them up and asked for my money 😂pochase said:Did you get an email with the offer of the £150 or did you just used the code?

And yes I'm "happy" with the rates we locked in. A real shame it hasn't gotten to this.0 -
I was an existing customer. We joined them in March when we moved. The previous owner had been on EDF. We were on a variable rate tariffSarahB16 said:

This is my situation. They said it would be referred to a special unit and I'm still to hear back. I emailed them the screenshot showing the offer had been accepted on r website prior to my switching to the fixed tariff.brewerdave said:I wasn't sent a code by email back in June - tried the one being promulgated on here but wouldn't accept it on the website, phoned up when I was assured by the Customer Service agent that I qualified - followed up when the credit didn't appear and was told it would be referred to a special offers team - still haven't had anything and not holding out much hope now !!0 -
I have finally received the credit to my account. I had to call EDF again to see if it had been done and was told it would take up to 45 days. I was asked about an email with the code but again I confirmed that I got the code from this site. When the advisor tried to apply it he said that the credit had gone down, can't remember exactly how much it was but it was about £130. I disputed this and when he tried again he said it would be the £150. I got him to email me with confirmation that I would get the credit, and this was finally applied last week and I got £157.50.2

Finally got credited after many calls and emailing screenshots! They even have me 7.50 extra 🤣🤣
IF there is blue a price fix them that 150 will indeed be used to leave the current tariff and return to standard variable. Will still be out of pocket by 150 though. Oh well. Let's wait and see0
