Static caravan site fee refund

Hi
We owned a caravan sited in Yorkshire. We had paid the site fees for 2022/2023. We then sold the caravan and moved it offsite in May of this year. Our contract/agreement states we are entitled to a 40% refund if the van is removed by the end of June. This amounts to just short of a £1000 but the park is refusing to refund.
What recourse do we have and how to go out it?

On what grounds are they refusing?
If (as you describe) the contract is clear that they owe a refund, take them to the small claims court.0 -
Hi
Thanks for your reply.
Initially he wanted to retain the refund in payment for a disconnection fee. He would not desite i.e. remove the van from the pitch ready for transportation which is normal practice for a park. We eventually identified a firm willing to disconnect and desite at a cost of £400.0 -
This all depends on the terms of your contract and whether you (and they) have adhered to them. If you are certain they owe you a refund, send them a letter before action and take them to court if needs be.0

Hi
The park owner refused to desite the van and told us to arrange desiting.1
