If the people chasing this are EPC Ltd then you can safely ignore - they have no lawful authority in the UK in respect of any such charges. For the Hungarian "fines" then they only need consideration for payment if you plan on going back to Hungary.

Yes I'm happy to pay one of them. Asking to pay two in my eyes is more of a daylight robbery rather than a reasonable law. I have sent another email asking if this can be done.
Mine are for different days apparently, so I doubt they will agree, but it's worth a shot. How many days were you there?
Yup two different days. I just can't comprehend the logic behind their reasoning. I bought wrong vignette type, valid 10 days and they want me to be pay separate fine for each time I've drove on a motorway which again happened on separate days.

When did London become part of Hungary..?

EPC are ismply shonky debt collectors who buy-up tickets that overseas authorities have no interest, ability or intention of enforcing and send-out scary but ultimately meaningless letters.

Post four of the Newbies Sticky in the appropriate forum here covers them completely and paying them only perpetuates the scam for everyone else they target..!

Yes - that's two separate offences of driving with the wrong vignette.  Spotted by camera, checked and issued automatically.  No human being will have gone  "Hey, that's the same guy..."   If you write politely (in Hungarian?) then you might get a reasonable response accepting it was the same error and waiving the subsequent penalties or you might just get a jobsworth answer.

Or as said above - if you don't plan to drive in Hungary again - ignore.
I need to think of something new here...

I recently got a letter demanding payment and late charges from EPC on behalf of eFlow for an unpaid journey on the motorway round Dublin. I had in fact prepaid, and was able to send them a PDF receipt of payment. They were prompt in cancelling the charges, and courteous with it. So not all bad.
If someone is nice to you but rude to the waiter, they are not a nice person.

Hi buddy how did you get on in the end?
  • Decided not to pay. Not other letters just yet.
  • I had 6 from the Dartford crossing in may 2017.
Even though the car is registered as disabled as of December 2016.
Just lazy and did not update their records.
I called once and explained the facts and they said it’s my fault, I said see you in court then.
Strange though a week later all the fines were stopped.

Cool story bro ... nothing to do with overseas penalties being chased by EPC PLC though. ;)

Or are you saying that it was EPC PLC who contacted you?

A quick update if anyone is still interested. I've just received a letter from contractum international dept collection. I need to do some digging to so if it's something I can still ignore. Their address on the letter is the same as EPC plc, probably the same people.
