Windows 10 & FireFox tweaking...?

Sorry, honestly I've tried to find an answer to this but either using wrong search terms or I don't know what. I just can't get the answer. I'll start with FireFox as I think that seems like it should be the easiest one to sort...
FIREFOX
I want tabs to open at the very end. I heavily tab-browse so if I have a load of tabs open & I'm then in the left most tab, I want it to open at the very end on the right, not sandwiched between tabs 1 & 2.
I had it like this before I made the move to Win10 but the last time I set a PC up from scratch was 2016 & I've forgotten whatever I must've done.
BUT, before anyone suggests what cor-el said: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1295586 I've done that & it didn't work. One of the true/false matched what they said but the other was the opposite. Either way I changed to what they said & it didn't solve the problem.
EDIT IN PAINT
Win7 - right click an image, select edit & you open paint. I acutally used the software quite a bit.
Do that in Win10 & you wind up with paint3D which i think is terrible.
I see Paint is installed on Win10 so I want it to be what is used when I right click>edit.
How do you change that? I wonder if maybe a registry setting rather than anything up front but I don't know.
IMAGE VIEW
I don't like the image viewer. The Win7 one did absolutely everything I wanted.
So taking tallmansix's advice of presenting a problem & you give me a solution.....
What I want from an image viewer is
1) to be able to click through left & right so that i can view different photos in a folder with a mouse click. I'm not talking about using the directional arrows on your keyboard for the default viewer in Win10, I'm talking about 1-click left takes you to the image before the existing one & 1 click right takes you to the next one.
2) When an image is opened it is not automatically full screen. I know some viewers do this & it's annoying. Sure I don't mind full screen being an OPTION but let me choose it, don't force it on me.
3) Slideshow. I know the default one has this feature. I'm just saying - I use it so any software would need it.
4) Ability to rotate an image (& once rotated, it auto saves as having been rotated) - see #3.
Hopefully I don't run in to too many more Win10 quirks. Overall though it seems pretty decent. Just a few things I don't like - like the above.

Image viewThe Windows 7 image viewer is in Windows 10. If you prefer it you can enable it. Open Notepad. Paste the code below into it and save as a .reg file. Double click on this reg file and say to continue when you get the warning. It will edit the registry to make the Windows 7 picture viewer visible.

Find an image of the type you want to open in the image viewer in the file browser. Right click the file and choose the open with command and then choose another app. Scroll through the list to see if the image viewer is there. If it is check the always open this type with box and select the image viewer. If the image viewer isn't in the list check the box as before and use the choose other app option and browse to the image viewer executable file and choose it. This is how you tell Windows to open any file type in a particular piece of software.

1) You can drag the tabs... Or right-click on a link in the window next to where you want the new tab, select "open in new tab" and it won't appear on the right.2) Paint 3D only appears if the computer supports it, otherwise you get the normal Paint application. Right-click an image (JPG, PNG are the two common ones), find Paint in the list, tick the "Always open with" box at the bottom. Repeat for other file types as and when.3) As above, still exists in 10 and its virtually identical to 7.Related to 2 and 3: Paint.net is Paint on steroids with more power. And free.Also related to 1: This behaviour is deliberate so if its worked before it'll be an extension that was adding the behaviour. You can just copy the old Firefox profile to the new one and it'll bring the extensions, the settings, the history, the cookies, the everything across with it0

This is how you tell Windows to open any file type in a particular piece of software.Hmm, not sure what's going on.First off I followed what you said. The closest I can find in the list seems to be called "Photo Gallery", which is close to what I'm talking about, except not quite the Windows 7 version I was meaning.Is Photo Gallery what you were referring to or is there another piece of software in there that you were talking about?As for not being sure what's going on - as I said, I did exactly what your post said, which was this...I put that line in to a notepad entry & saved as a .reg file.However when I came to quote you, I found this....So I'm not actually sure what I should've done & why that's different when I quote you.So if you wouldn't mind clarifying, that'd be greatNeil_Jones said:1) You can drag the tabs... My point was a) I don't want to and b) I shouldn't have to.When I had FireFox setup on my Win7 drive, it was automatic. I didn't need to do anything beyond opening in a new tab.Right click a link & select open new tab ...... went at the far right of all the tabs.Highlight a word, right click & select search with Google ........ went at the far right of all the tabs.Automatically.And that's what I'm wanting - it to be put there on the far right automatically.Neil_Jones said:2) Paint 3D only appears if the computer supports it, otherwise you get the normal Paint application. When I right clicked an image & wanted to edit, the first thing I saw was "edit with paint3D". If I just looked 2 levels below this then I'd have seen plain old "Edit" which is what I wantNeil_Jones said:Also related to 1: This behaviour is deliberate so if its worked before it'll be an extension that was adding the behaviour. I only brought over the bookmarks tbh.I tried looking to see if there's an add-on that allows me to do it but nothing is jumping out at me.0 -
In case anyone else wants the photo viewer thing (doubtful) or I ever have to format the driver, re-install Win10 & run in to this problem again (more likely) then this is what I did to sort it:From this link: https://www.cnet.com/tech/services-and-software/miss-windows-photo-viewer-heres-how-to-get-it-back-in-windows-10/I found this link: https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/14312-restore-windows-photo-viewer-windows-10-a.htmlAnd followed the guide from Option Two.Which seems to be what wongataa said, although not in the visible form - only when quoting his post.

Photo Viewer is one of those things that you kept if you upgraded from 7 but isn't there by default in a new build. It does still exist but its harder to find.Re; Firefox, this behaviour can only AFAIK be changed by an extension. So you must have installed an extension at some point. If you have access to the old profile then as I say if you can temporarily re-use that and the behaviour you want returns then something in there is what you want.0

I know it can be done because I've been doing it like this since 2016. In fact I've been doing it before that, it's just that 2016 was the last time I installed Windows from scratch so I'd have had to have sorted it then.@Neil_Jones - got the photo viewer thing sorted now thanks
I must say, I do like some things about Win10. It's not all bad.
Just...some things were better in Win7 in my opinion, so where possible I'd like to revert.QUESTION:Before I set Win10 up on this new SSD the way I had it working with Win 7 was...* a dual boot setup where Win 7 was installed on both an SSD drive (which is where my old FireFox setup will be) and Win 7 (yes) was also installed on a different drive - a SSHD. Yes I'm aware of creating user accounts but let's stay on topic...In BIOS, the 1st boot drive needed to be the SSHD. If it was the SSD then you wouldn't get in to Windows. Point BIOS to the SSHD & then you'd get the option to select which Windows/Drive you wanted to boot to & it'd all work.Now, I have a SSD enclosure which is USB powered in case that helps any.But the question is without opening the PC again, disconnecting drives, re-connecting the SSD & SSHD, how do I connect up just the (old - Win7) SSD so that I can access my FireFox setup and see what extensions I may have had installed?Or is the only way to do it to connect up both drives?Oh & in case it makes a difference, I remember using EasyBCD back when i was setting up Win7 but it's been so long now I've forgotten what I did.0 -
Have a read of this and see where to start your plan then try it.

I found a different Mozilla/Firefox help link: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1229062
This one says you should set the following About properties as follows:
Open All Tabs at the End of the Bar
browser.tabs.insertAfterCurrent = false (default)
browser.tabs.insertRelatedAfterCurrent => false

But note the thread title that that guy made...New tabs ALWAYS open to the right of the last open tab, not to the right of current tab"Current tab"As soon as I re-read it after reading your post Jenni, I realised that this person had what I wanted & they wanted what I had.Sorted now.We'll get there in the end1
