Has anyone ever used VIRTUO car rental? We are off to France in September and wondering about trying this as you can sort a specific car and it seems to be very good value.
However I'm having an "if it seems too good to be true it probably is" moment!
I can't find the company mentioned anywhere on MSE and can't decide if its a good sign (not loads of complaints) or a really bad sign (they are just alltogether fake, or so bad noone else using the forums has ever actually booked with them)!

I haven't used it myself but I know people who have used it in England and they said it was good.

A bit late for you now (!) but thought I'd share our experiences in case anyone searches for it.
We've used Virtuo quite often in Germany when we lived there and once in France on holiday. It's a bonus not having to deal with a person trying to upsell you insurance, or wait in a queue at an office to pick up, the cars have always been in good condition and easy to find in a public car park somewhere. I think a second driver has been free in the countries we've used, and crossing borders didn't cost extra either. Total price was certainly cheaper than the big car hire firms in the places we wanted to use them. Returns are similarly easy - you park up, take pics of the car and end the rental on the app.
Obviously if there are any issues it's harder to get hold of help. We have sometimes had problems with getting the app and the car to recognise each other, and on occasion items which are supposed to legally be in the car in that country were not there (e.g. hi vis, warning triangles). They do also take a holding deposit for the length of your rental, though it's usually released within 24hrs.
In general we've had no major issues and have found using them a positive and easy experience. Equally we've not had to deal with mechanical issues/breakdowns or accidents, so don't know how well they deal with those.0
